Franklin's Preferred Chiropractor, Dr. Joseph Gebhardt

“For most of my high school years, I had no idea what I wanted to be,” remembers Dr. Joseph “Josh” Gebhardt. Then one day he met someone who changed his life.
Dr. Gebhardt realized right after his first adjustment that he wanted to be a chiropractor. Having been bothered by asthma through his child and early adulthood, he was amazed at the difference he experienced. “I was able to breathe easier, more freely. I noticed I used my proventil inhaler less and less with each subsequent adjustment. My first chiropractor was Dr. Gene Corfman, of Huntsville, Alabama.”
Dr. Josh attended David Lipscomb University as part of his pre-chiropractic education, studying courses such as Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, and Anatomy and Physiology. In August of 1997 he started chiropractic school at Life University in Marietta, GA. While studying at Life, he found the coursework to be quite challenging. Specifically, Hard and Soft Tissue Pathology, Gross Anatomy, Peripheral and Central Nervous System, and Immunology, were very difficult. “I remember 7:00 a.m. gross anatomy class everyday one quarter was extremely tedious. Something about the smell of formaldehyde that early in the morning was hard to get used to.” Dr. Josh graduated in December 2001, and subsequently moved to Nashville, TN to start Gebhardt Family Chiropractic.
“We love skeptics. Dr. Ben and I love to change the patients’ expectation and perception of chiropractic.” At 180 Chiropractic and Wellness, both doctors are united in influencing lives in the Nashville community through safe, gentile and effective chiropractic care. “Our first priority is the patients primary goal, secondly we want to turn the patients health paradigm 180 degrees, from a sickcare model to a more wellness, healthcare approach.”
Dr. Josh has one child, Paula “Reese” Gebhardt born November of 2007. Dr. Josh enjoys spending time with friends and family, dining out, and traveling. Dr. Josh is an avid golfer. He played in high school at Goodpasture in Madison, Tn. “I wish I was good as I used to be, but I am still a golf junkie,” states Dr. Josh. He also loves Vanderbilt athletics. “I’ve only missed a handful of games since I was six, even when I lived in Atlanta, I still had season tickets to basketball and football.” Since moving back to Nashville, Dr. Josh also supports the Tennessee Titans and the Nashville Predators. “Hockey is my new favorite sport.”
“I receive chiropractic care weekly. My profession is physically demanding, also running a practice, so I feel with the stress level, I need the weekly care,” states Dr. Josh. “Everyone’s care is different, I base all my healthcare decisions on each individual, not on what I need for myself, or a one size fits all approach.”
Dr. Gebhardt would tell any potential patient, ““I consider myself an excellent listener and hope I get the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge. Give our office a call or email me with the link below.”
